BIC Helps Young People Discover More Live Music
Dorset Music Forum (DMF) is piloting a new program to make live music more accessible to younger people. Working with local venues and promoters the project provides incentives and offers for people under 16 years of age to encourage them to discover more live music.
The first concert goes on sale this week at the Bournemouth International Centre featuring Australia’s best selling artist ‘Xavier Rudd’ on Saturday 4th December, having previously packed out the o2 Academy.
U16s can get special DMF tickets for £8 on a first come first served basis, with general tickets available for £16.50.
Trevor Hill, co-founder of DMF said; “It’s so important that we get more young people to experience live music early on. If the project is successful and demand is there, it will encourage the industry to do more to cater for all ages.”
Andy White, concert promoter from Boardriders Live said; “The live industry needs new audiences and we’ll do whatever we can to encourage young people to check out these acts, tell us what they think and who they want to see in the future.”
To be eligible for the special tickets you must be Under 16 and register on www.DorsetMusic.com. Tickets are available from the BIC (www.bic.co.uk)
